Most homeowners who call us get around to the same question: what are you putting around my house, and where exactly is it going?
We would rather answer that up front. Everything we apply is a registered product applied according to its label, and the label governs where it goes, how much is used, and how long it stays active. Our technicians are trained on those requirements and follow them on every visit.
The bigger part of the answer is where we treat. Following an Integrated Pest Management approach, we look at the property first and target the areas where pests actually travel and harbor, usually the perimeter and the home-adjacent yard. Most homes get an interior treatment on the first visit if there is a lot of activity inside. After that the work shifts outside to keep pests from getting in, which keeps treatment materials out of your living space.
We also adjust for what is on your property. Some ant materials can be taken up by plants, so tell us where your edible plants are and we will treat around them. If you would rather we leave the orb weavers in your garden alone, we will note the account. For a spot like children's play equipment, we may use a botanical material with an essential oil as the active ingredient, which controls the spider without leaving a long-lasting residue behind.
For customers who want more of the treatment built on botanical materials, we offer NatureShield, a botanically based service that uses fewer synthetic materials. Botanicals break down faster, so it takes more frequent visits and a little more tolerance from you, and we would rather say that before you sign up than after.
